Behind the scene from Red tile studio

Today I want to share with this beautiful design, also I’m a animal lover, so I just get appealing by her animal graphic design. But beside that I love the the color she use and the pattern she make, go check our more story here!

il_570xN.604851771_lhpsQ:  Would you share with us how you started to create your art work?

Our original designs were 12 paintings of inspired local plants and animals from Texas.

From there we decided to add more geometric and animal designs and put them on wooden art blocks.

The idea is to choose a color palette and choose your favorite designs to create a mini art collection.

Q:  What’s story behind your brand?

The name of our shop ( Red Tile Studio) is named after my 1938 Spanish Eclectic Bungalow. It has a red tiled roof.

isa_760xN.6598138568_funqQ:
Do you want to share your work place ?

Yes. I have attached a photo.

Q: What is your working schedule like?

I’m usually in the studio by 8am. Checking emails, etc. I then work on any outstanding orders to get them out of the way. Anytime left in the day after that is set aside for creating new designs, sample boards for clients and I’m always tweaking the shop and website. I tend to shut down around 5pm and try not to get back online after that.

nursery.landsdesignQ:
Which piece is your favorite or sells the best?

Our most popular items are art block sets for nurseries. I think our coral and mint color palette is definitely our most popular right now.

Q: Do you remember when you sold your first item and how you felt?

The first item we sold was a painting and it was very exciting. Getting the first sale is probably the hardest.

Q: What’s the hardest part of your design career?

Keeping motivated. Always having to come up with new and fresh ideas is not an easy process.

It really helps to stay positive and open to new ideas.

Q: Which part of working do you enjoy the most?

I love creating new designs and working on custom design boards. It’s always fun to see where the creativity will lead you.

isa_760xN.6009284740_7hryQ: What it your next project?

I’m currently working on a new set of standard color palettes and F/W 2014 designs. They should be in the shop with the month.

Q: If you were not a designer, what do you think you would be?

I have a degree in anthropology. If I could I would definitely love to get involved in local archaeological digs.

Q:.If young people want to follow the same path as you, what would you suggest?

If you want to be successful with an online shop you have to but in lots of time.

It takes time to develop a brand and designs. Plus you have to understand your marketplace, which is not as easy as it seems. No matter what stick to what makes you happy. Design for yourself, create because you need to, enjoy living your passion.

Q: Is there anything you want to share with us?

We have a website and blog at and you can see behind the scenes of the studio on instagram
