Q: Would you share with us how you started to create your art work?
Mödernaked is inspired by our surroundings; the mediterranean, in films, music, people.
Q: What's story behind your brand?
It all started as a joke; a word that we used to use in the studio to define things and people we liked and found interesting; and that word was möder (in german mother) naked. Later on, we took this word and start building our project; and decided to create a line of products for the type of persons we used to define as “mödernaked”.
Q: Do you want to share your work place ?
We live in the countryside, and our studio is in the midst of the mediterranean.
Q: What is your working schedule like?
Any moment is good to find inspiration; but in the last few years we are more productive during the morning; but like we mentioned before, any moment is good for us to work, when one does what he/she loves, the time does not matter. Although we do try to have a schedule.
Q: Which type of material do you like to use the most and why?
We like natural fibers, natural leathers, above all natural and non.
Q: Which piece is your favorite or sells the best?
Globby print backpack; and the heap backpack
Q: Where does your inspiration come from?
Inspiration comes from the everyday life, our surroundings, nature, the mediterranean lifestyle and culture; music; films.
Q: Do you remember when you sold your first item and how you felt?
The first item we sold under mödernaked brand, was a Globby Navy Backpack and we felt very excited to know that our product was out there and that it pleased people.
Q: What's the hardest part of your design career?
The commercial side of selling your brand; having to compete with major brands.
Q: Which part of working do you enjoy the most?
To see the outcome of our work; to see when a product comes out of the studio and the workshop; the end result.
Q: What it your next project?
We’re working on a new keychains collection and watches collection;
Q: What kind of books do you like to read, and what kind of music do you like?
We like traveling books and adventure books; romantic novels; we dedicate some of our time to music, we actually post in our web some of the music we like; we like alternative music, but above all music that makes us feel something; that transmits us good vibes or sentiments.
Q: If you were not a designer, what do you think you would be?
hahahha… we’d like to be chefs and carpenters.
Q:If young people want to follow the same path as you, what would you suggest?
To do what they love; if one puts passion into everything they do, good things can only happen; be persistent.
Q: Is there anything you want to share with us?
To enjoy life, and cherish all the moments you have; the simple pleasures of life; enjoy your friends, family, music, all!
